"Woot"

Yeah. Woot.

You're a master of effects, man. You know how to create a mood. The gameplay was good, too, but the effects made me give this thing a 5. And a favorite. Anyways, I like the sword trails, the sounds of the hits (and misses), and the subtle camera shift when you move. Also, the lack of outlines within the characters adds to the mood.

The only thing is that the gameplay gets a little stale. Each monster has a certain strategy you can use to easily defeat it, and fighting mobs is basically the same.

Anyways, good work. I'm going to play it again right now. =)

I absolutely agree that it gets boring. I am striving to develop more solid game play in future games to keep the game FEELING good as well as looking good.

Woot

First, to i-am-bored-13, you CAN put sharps and flats.

Now then. Sweet program! =D My only gripe is that some of the instruments don't sound like the instruments. Like the flute, for example. Other than that, awesome! I didn't know Flash was this powerful.

Starburst997 responds:

Thank you !!! The instruments will be way better in the next version ! look for it in september !

Fun game.

Me likey the game. But please, for the love of all that is good in this world, it's "a lot"! Like, a ton, a bunch... a lot!

Good kids game.

Far better than what I've been doing. Fourth? Man, I could never make four kids games >.>

Back on topic. I thought the graphics could have been flashier and brighter (kids like shiny things - but then, don't we all?). I also wish you would've drawn your own custom Wiggies. The sprite pack just didn't cut it for chefs. Either that, or the hat was made in a completely different style and they just kinda... clashed.

The gameplay, for the most part, was good. I wish the chef would've been animated. And instead of slips, they could have been dishes with empty outlines of food. Then you'd click on a food item and the chef would serve it up. I think that would be neato speedo.

As for the music... bleh. I always hated that one the most. >.> I'm not taking off score for it, of course. I hope you get a prize!

Peace.

Almost awesome.

Sweet game man. It was good, but not awesome, you know? There were some things holding it back, but most are minor and can be fixed in the few days you have left.

Like everyone's said, you have to upgrade the graphics, man. Heck, use the built-in Flash components if you have to. If you can find a Photoshopper, make him/her get you some grunge-based graphics.
Graphics would be easy to replace because, well... all you have to do is replace.

The second thing that could be fixed in a short period of time is the loading song screen. I never know when the song is going to start, so I'm sitting here, staring at the screen. Either a percentage thing or a load bar would be nice. Or a "ROCK ON DUDE" to say "GET OFF FACEBOOK AND PLAY FLASH HERO NOW".

These aren't so easily fixed. Perhaps in a sequel? =)

Six buttons is overkill man. Six would be hard enough on the GH controller, and that has a small fretboard. It has a small fretboard because Harmonix knows that some people have small hands. Not everyone has the hand length to move to the 6 key and back across without seriously injuring their wrist.

On a side note, a liability disclaimer might do you some good.

Anyways. I think 5 keys would be good. And maybe moving it to ~ through 4? I don't know if ~/` has a key code... I think it does. o.O I dunno. Maybe enable trapallkeys? Ah. Wait. If you used trapallkeys, then couldn't you use the function keys as frets? That would be lots better.

There's something else I wanted to gripe about. But I can't remember.

Love the game man. The song list is freaking huge! "MORE SONGS?!"

A shame if this is disqualified...

Hm. Lots of things have been said, so I'll just elaborate. I thought the graphics were clean and fit well with the game theme (and the death of Tom was pretty sweet). The article could've been easier to read, though it was still entertaining to know that I can laugh while I lose at easy my first time through o.O

It was challenging enough that I felt like printing off the certificate and shoving in my neighbors' (they're twins, by golly) faces. The signature has an uncanny resemblence to Mr. Prez's real siggie... did you copy it off a document he signed and somehow render it off? If you just guessed... I think this should win the top spot just for that.

Still, I have my gripes. The sync on hard mode is way off, especially at the end with the heavy beats (the quarter and sixteenth pattern). That was so off it isn't even funny. The off-sync beats made it hard to get 5 bubblies.

And insane mode is insane. Not a gripe. Just a comment. Wow. I'd play it more than two times in a row if I liked the song though. Sorry Tyler. =)

Oh. And I don't know if this is a bug or if it's just my computer, but sometimes when I hit a note, it's both a hit and a miss. The accuracy remains 100%, but I hear the "YOU SUCK" sound (*pink*) and my multiplier of doom goes away.

I think this deserves to beat Epic Riffs. Hopefully you don't get disqualified. Personally, I don't think you will, but there's always a chance.
